Debbye Omlie of SBDC on the Social Media Conference

Debbye is the Communications Manager for the Small Business Development Center - and she led the organization for the Social Media Conference NW.  As you'll hear Debbye say above - she couldn't have done it without the support of the Technology Alliance Group (TAG).  TAG helped organize the conference and line up speakers too.  The other piece of the puzzle was the facilities - Whatcom Community College came through in a big way.  What a beautiful campus and wonderful spaces to meet in.  What a gem...

We heard unanimous praise for the conference from attendees.  The only negative I heard was that folks wish it was longer than two half days - that's pretty nice "criticism!"  If you'd like to see another Social Media Conference next year, I recommend passing that praise (and hopes for a future conference) to the staff at the SBDC and at TAG!Social Pastures Logo

Chuck Robinson of Village Books

Chuck is enthusiastic about the conference and how he can improve his social media marketing for Village Books.  Village Books is already well ahead of many of its peers - because they already blog (though Chuck would like to blog more) and are so engaged with their physical community as well as the burgeoning virtual community.  You can learn more at: http://www.villagebooks.comSocial Pastures Logo

Deb Slater talking about the conjunction of Social Media and Traditional Video

Deb spoke to us about the conjunction of Traditional Media and Social Media.  She is uniquely positioned to talk to it, as she is working in TV at KVOS (has her own show)  Deb also worked in local radio for years (remember the Dave & Deb show on KISM?).  You can learn more about what Deb is doing at: http://www.debslater.comSocial Pastures Logo
